This commercial highlights one of Audi’s selling points for its cars: bright LED headlights that are as bright as daylight.
Under a full moon, a group of young people are partying in a remote area. Singing, playing a guitar and dancing around a campfire like an ordinary party, the first clue that this is not an ordinary party is when a closeup of two girls walking and talking shows one of them sipping from a pint-sized blood transfusion bag as if it were a soft drink.
Two young people finish talking to each other and scamper up a tree as if they were two squirrels!
Meanwhile, a car winds its way towards the party and the driver checks himself in the rear-view mirror. As he bares his teeth, the incisors extend out, as if deployed for biting.
Several more girls with vampire teeth are seen conversing and the campfire is ablaze.
The driver looks down at his prized possession: a container of blood – O-positive to be precise. As he drives up to the party, everybody turns in anticipation.
Without warning, they explode and disappear as they become illuminated by the headlights. Everybody is gone, save for one lonely person who pops up from behind a log and vaporizes. The driver cannot believe his eyes. A few charred articles of clothing are the only remaining objects of what was a lively party a few minutes before.
Audio now puts up the punchline about how daylight is now in its headlights.
As an exclamation point, the driver now wanders in front of his car, with its headlights still on, and he too, disappears in a puff of smoke.
The focal point of the commercial, the Audi headlights, is humorously portrayed and should be remembered by the viewers. The vampires disappearing due to the headlights leaves a strong impression of the power of these lights and that is what Audi wanted to do. However, this commercial does seemed to be geared to fans of the TV show Twilight.
